Shaping the future of Dunedin transport - how to get involved

With the new Dunedin Hospital being built within the central city, the transport system around it, which most of us use to get to work, may have to change.

Connecting Dunedin (a partnership of the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Dunedin City Council and the Otago Regional Council) has been working on the Shaping Future Dunedin Transport project to assess what those changes might be. Investigations include how the inner-city transport system could be used to better support developments such as the new hospital, help us achieve our carbon emission reduction goals and enhance the central city as a place for people to spend time.

From 15 June to 13 July you can let Connecting Dunedin know what you think about Shaping Future Dunedin Transport‘s ideas, e.g. to improve transport choice and safety, enhance our street environment and provide better bus, walking and cycling experiences. There are also ideas for parking and for changes to State Highway 1 runs through the city, including whether it stays one way or changes to two way.

Please visit the interactive Shaping Future Dunedin Transport Social Pinpoint website to find out more about the project and share your ideas.
